Horseshoe Southern Indiana: Sin City Meets the Derby City

Horseshoe Southern Indiana is a little slice of Las Vegas just 25 minutes from downtown Louisville. Formerly Caesars Indiana, Horseshoe Southern Indiana is a four-deck riverboat casino across the Ohio River from western Louisville and the closest casino to the city. The casino, owned by Harrah's, features 2,000 slot machines (including video poker), live poker games, keno and more than 100 gaming tables — a game for any taste. On Deck 4, high rollers can try their luck at the High Limit Slot and Table Games casino.

Gambling is not the only entertainment in the house. What would Las Vegas be without live acts? Recent performers include Bill Cosby, Sheryl Crow, Barenaked Ladies, Gretchen Wilson, Vince Gill and the legendary Willie Nelson.

There are also more live acts Friday and Saturday nights in the Legends nightclub and in the Envy Stage Bar. Bands and solo acts at either venue perform from 9 p.m. to 1:45 a.m. Legends has a full bar, including specialty drinks, a martini bar and a dance floor. The Envy Stage Bar sports a massive video wall, tailor made for sporting events, and video poker built right into the bar top.

Horseshoe Southern Indiana has seven different restaurants, ranging from Jack Binion's Steak House, a fine-dining establishment serving aged steaks and Maine lobster, to JB's Café, a 24-hour burger bistro located right on the second deck for when you're on a lucky streak and don't want to get too far from the action.

The casino's hotel boasts 503 rooms and suites, as well as an indoor swimming pool and a fitness center. A woodsy, outdoor fitness trail has 18 workout stations. There's also the 18-hole Chariot Run Golf Course.

Horseshoe Southern Indiana operates a shuttle service for Total Rewards members. (Membership is free.) The shuttle collects patrons from various locations in Louisville, Indianapolis, IN; Seymour, IN; Lexington, KY; Frankfort, KY; Evansville, IN; Bowling Green, KY; Nashville, TN; Elizabethtown, KY; Bardstown, KY, and Fort Knox, KY. Check the shuttle schedule for more information.
