Ruben's Restaurant: Escape the Bustle of Veterans Parkway
Though it's part of the sprawl of Veterans Parkway, Ruben's restaurant manages to maintain an atmosphere that's calm and relaxing. Once inside Ruben's restaurant, the walls block the sights and sounds of the heavy traffic outside, and the calm decor promises for a quiet dinner away from the bustle.
Like most Mexican restaurants, Ruben's lengthy menu can be somewhat overwhelming. However, section headings like burritos, enchiladas, fajitas, seafood and vegetarian specials make it easy to find your favorite dishes. A large lunch menu, served from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. daily, appeals to afternoon diners who want smaller portions and bills. Lunch combos feature varied combinations of favorites such as burritos, tacos, enchiladas, rice and beans. Smaller portions of dinner entrees are also available, such as the Chilaquiles Mexicanos (tortilla chips cooked with chicken and Ruben's special sauce).
A full bar means that all of your favorite drinks are available at Ruben's. Margaritas frozen or on the rocks, daiquiris, and piña coladas are available by the glass or pitcher. Bottled domestic and imported beers are available as well as glasses and pitchers of Bud Light and Dos Equis. Also served are glasses and bottles of sangria, chardonnay, merlot, white zinfandel, and rose and burgundy wines.
